In addition to your tasting days, arrangements can include evenings in the comfort of your luxury residence with a private chef, a guest winemaker, or a cheese tasting and pairing with an internationally recognized food and wine expert (or all of the above!). Of course, there are numerous activities in addition to wine and culinary plans that are regularly arranged for our clients that include unique local attractions and activities (including our “Kids Country” itineraries).

Start your day with a cup of coffee on the rocking chairs on the front porch and birdwatch
Walk under the Redwood trees along a babbling creek in Bothe State Park just minutes south of here.
Visit the secret bench in the backyard vineyard by walking up the hill to row 18 for the best views of Mt. Saint Helena.
Stroll the grounds and imagine Poet, Novelist and Travel Writer Robert Louis Stevenson roaming these very hills for inspiration when writing The Silverado Squatters and Treasure Island.
Stargaze on the lounge chairs. Make sure to turn off all the lights, it’s stunning.
Some of our favorite restaurants: SolBar at Solage (ricotta pancakes at breakfast are insane), Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch for ribs and seafood, Calistoga Inn, RH Yountville, Charter Oak, Brasswood (order the hot mozzarella appetizer, it’s made to order), Gotts (gourmet burgers plus more).
Two great farmers markets, Friday in St. Helena at Crane Park and Saturday one block north of Lincoln on Washington in Calistoga. Get the smoked salmon at Santa Rosa Seafood and pretty much anything else they have in stock. We always get Cioppino and Crab cakes too.
Best quiche is at Bella Bakery in Calistoga. Order a whole pie in advance for brunch, it’s worth the calories.
Best coffee is Napa Roastery in St. Helena on Adams Street.
Best grocery stores: Sunshine Market in St. Helena and CalMart in Calistoga
Wineries: Too numerous to go into detail but since you’re in the Schramsberg estate you may want to visit. They’re famous for their sparkling wines but their DAVIES red wines are also fantastic. Their Diamond Mountain Cabernet is grown here. Brasswood and Heitz Cellar are also great local winery options that also offer food!

Wow, we were amazed at the beauty of this property and how the owners have fully restored this Victorian home to modern standards! The pool is fabulous and the home is a quick drive to Calistoga and St. Helena. We wholeheartedly recommend The Vic in the Vines.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Vic and the Vine...the house is stunning and well appointed. The kids LOVED the grounds, pool, and game room. We would definitely stay here again!
