Casa 1 at Ross Ranch is a rare and intimate wine country escape — a beautifully remodeled farmhouse set among lush Cabernet vines on a 20-plus acre working ranch in Knights Valley, just north of Calistoga. With panoramic views of Mount Saint Helena framing every window and the unhurried rhythm of ranch life setting the pace, this is a property that changes the way guests think about what a Napa Valley stay can be. Inside, the 1,100-square-foot farmhouse has been thoughtfully redesigned with contemporary furnishings, modern art, and warm, inviting hues that feel both stylish and genuinely comfortable. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms accommodate up to six guests with ease — intimate enough for a romantic couples retreat, spacious enough for a small group of close friends. Step outside and the ranch comes alive. Adirondack chairs face the vineyard and Mount Saint Helena — arguably one of the finest morning coffee spots in all of wine country. The property's standalone gym, equipped with two Peloton bikes, free weights, a rowing machine, and a smart TV, sits just steps away for guests who want to start the day with purpose before heading out to the valley's tasting rooms. As part of the farm stay experience, Casa 1 guests have full access to the shared heated pool, the party barn entertainment space, and a pickleball court — amenities that punch well above what the intimate scale of the farmhouse itself might suggest. Fresh eggs from resident chickens and herbs and vegetables from the garden are yours each morning, and private wine tastings of the ranch's own Cabernet label and farm-to-table chef dinners can be arranged to round out the experience. The property is fully gated with coded entrances, surrounded by acres of Cabernet vines, horses, cows, and the kind of peacocks that quickly become the most photographed subjects of any stay. Calistoga's restaurants, spas, and world-class wineries are just minutes down the road — though mornings at Ross Ranch have a way of making departure feel less urgent than it should. Sleeps 6 · 3 bedrooms · 2 bathrooms · 1,100 sq ft · Pets welcome · Full access to pool, party barn, gym & pickleball court
Casa 1 delivers something the broader Napa Valley rental market simply cannot — the intimacy of a beautifully appointed three-bedroom farmhouse combined with the amenities of a full resort estate. Calistoga sits at the northern tip of the Napa Valley floor, where the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges converge to create one of California's most dramatic and celebrated wine country settings. It's a town that moves at its own unhurried pace — small enough to feel intimate, yet rich enough in world-class experiences to fill a week without repeating yourself. From the property, you're within minutes of some of Napa Valley's most iconic wineries — Chateau Montelena, Castello di Amorosa, and Sterling Vineyards among them — as well as the boutique tasting rooms that line the Silverado Trail and Highway 29 corridor. St. Helena, home to Michelin-starred dining and high-end shopping, is a short drive south. Calistoga is also unique in Napa Valley for its natural geothermal hot springs. World-famous spa destinations including Indian Springs, Dr. Wilkinson's, and Calistoga Spa Hot Springs are all within easy reach, making this an ideal base for guests who want to combine wine tasting with genuine relaxation and rejuvenation. Downtown Calistoga's Lincoln Avenue offers a walkable stretch of locally owned restaurants, wine bars, and boutique shops — an easy evening stroll after a day in the vineyards.
The nearest commercial airports are Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) approximately 45 minutes away and service is provided by American, Alaska, and Southwest. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) approximately 90 minutes south. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is also a reasonable option at roughly 80 minutes.
A car is the best way to experience Napa Valley, and most guests choose to drive or arrange a private car service for the duration of their stay. Having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to explore wineries along the Silverado Trail and Highway 29 at your own pace — which is really the only way to do wine country properly. If you plan to spend your days tasting, we strongly recommend arranging a private driver or wine tour vehicle in advance. Our concierge team can connect you with trusted local providers who specialize in full-day winery tours and private transportation — just ask when you book. Rideshare services including Uber and Lyft operate in the area, though availability can be limited in the evenings and on weekends, particularly in the more rural parts of the valley. We recommend not relying on rideshare as your primary transportation plan. Calistoga's downtown Lincoln Avenue is walkable from some of our properties, with restaurants, wine bars, and shops all within easy reach on foot.
