A designer-built modular casita perched at 1,200 feet in the hills above Calistoga, where Danish-inspired interiors, a private Modpool, and nearly 900 square feet of cedar deck frame some of the most spectacular views in the entire Mayacamas Mountains. There is no other property in the Mayastoga portfolio quite like the Modsita — and truthfully, there is no other property quite like it anywhere in Napa Valley. Built in 2018 by Connect-Homes, one of California's premier luxury modular home builders, and designed by the acclaimed McMullen & Co. in a refined Danish aesthetic, this is a property where architectural intention and natural setting conspire to create something genuinely extraordinary for two. At 1,200 feet above the valley floor on a private 17-acre estate along Sharp Road above Calistoga, the Modsita commands views of the Mayacamas Mountains that stop guests mid-sentence. Deer, rabbits, and wildlife move through the property with a frequency that makes every morning feel like the opening scene of something quietly magical. The silence up here — broken only by birdsong and the occasional rustle of oak leaves — is the kind that reminds you what you came to wine country for in the first place. Inside, the open-concept main living space and kitchen are appointed with a curation of designer furniture and fixtures that reads like a who's-who of contemporary design: Design Within Reach, Lostline, Ravenhill, Schoolhouse, and ABC Carpet among them. The marble waterfall island anchors the kitchen. A fully automatic Saeco coffee system handles mornings with quiet precision. Every surface, every material, every fitting has been chosen with the same considered eye — the result is an interior that feels less like a rental and more like someone's dream home that you've been generously allowed to borrow. The outdoor living space is where the Modsita truly earns its reputation. Nearly 900 square feet of cedar deck surrounds the property's own "Modpool" — a private heated pool perfectly scaled for two, facing the Mayacamas Mountains and designed for the kind of long, unhurried afternoon that Napa Valley was made for. Hanging chairs, lounge sofas, an outdoor fire, and a dining area fill the deck, creating an outdoor living room as considered and complete as the interior. The Modsita shares its 17-acre setting with the adjacent Calistoga Wine Country Ranch, making it available for guests who wish to book both properties together — a rare configuration that gives larger groups the option of private casita living alongside the main ranch's six-bedroom accommodations.Calistoga is less than ten minutes away. The world feels considerably further.Sleeps 4 · 2 bedrooms · 1 bathroom · 960 sq ft interior · ~900 sq ft cedar deck · Private heated Modpool · Pets welcome (with fee)

Calistoga sits at the northern tip of the Napa Valley floor, where the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges converge to create one of California's most dramatic and celebrated wine country settings. It's a town that moves at its own unhurried pace — small enough to feel intimate, yet rich enough in world-class experiences to fill a week without repeating yourself. From the property, you're within minutes of some of Napa Valley's most iconic wineries — Chateau Montelena, Castello di Amorosa, and Sterling Vineyards among them — as well as the boutique tasting rooms that line the Silverado Trail and Highway 29 corridor. St. Helena, home to Michelin-starred dining and high-end shopping, is a short drive south. You are also a beautiful 50-minute hike down into Calistoga through vineyards and stunning Napa Valley Vistas. Calistoga is also unique in Napa Valley for its natural geothermal hot springs. World-famous spa destinations including Indian Springs, Dr. Wilkinson's, and Calistoga Spa Hot Springs are all within easy reach, making this an ideal base for guests who want to combine wine tasting with genuine relaxation and rejuvenation. Downtown Calistoga's Lincoln Avenue offers a walkable stretch of locally owned restaurants, wine bars, and boutique shops — an easy evening stroll after a day in the vineyards.
The nearest commercial airports are Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) approximately 45 minutes away and is serviced by America, Alaska, and Southwest. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) approximately 90 minutes south. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is also a reasonable option at roughly 80 minutes.
A car is the best way to experience Napa Valley, and most guests choose to drive or arrange a private car service for the duration of their stay. Having your own vehicle gives you the freedom to explore wineries along the Silverado Trail and Highway 29 at your own pace — which is really the only way to do wine country properly. If you plan to spend your days tasting, we strongly recommend arranging a private driver or wine tour vehicle in advance. Our concierge team can connect you with trusted local providers who specialize in full-day winery tours and private transportation — just ask when you book. Rideshare services including Uber and Lyft operate in the area, though availability can be limited in the evenings and on weekends, particularly in the more rural parts of the valley. We recommend not relying on rideshare as your primary transportation plan. Calistoga's downtown Lincoln Avenue is walkable from some of our properties, with restaurants, wine bars, and shops all within easy reach on foot.
